Fortuitous Letter from the Past

One day after my first post, I have received a fortuitous message from someone in Paris who had acted in the film, making these posts significant in the grand scheme of things.  I thought we had lost contact and had not spoken for two years and today she sent me this:

Hello Eric, i don't know if you remember me but i found your name and your email in my room; you went to Paris in order to do a short film and you asked me to appear in your film, i was in the garden of luxembourg. I had to read a book on Greece i believe... So well, would like to know how are you, and your film? Finally i appear in your film?
give me some news!!
Ciao, Marion.

The part of the film she is referring to was something spontaneous that we filmed together in the Jardin Du Luxembourg in Paris - the most beautiful park I have ever seen. Marion is a very striking young French woman. I asked her to be in a little scene and she agreed. I didn't have anything written at the time, so we just did a scene where she was reading a book of myths (the film is called OLYMPIA) and I interrupt her, and she reads to me from the book of mythology about hercules. It was the first scene I did with an actor in Paris...The rest of the scene is just her walking in the park, filming a bit of the circumstances of our rendezvous and Marion in this setting. It was a very peaceful afternoon, and the scene with her provided me with a lot of confidence to continue at the time, as her letter has once again...Thank you to Marion (also my Mom's name - Marian)

09/06/10

Tonights post is the first one. So I believe in the spirit of good communication I should say a little bit about my blog without getting sidetracked. I am writing this blog with the expressed purpose of maintaining focus on my film project. My film project is called Olympia and this blog is called Waves of Dust. It is called Dust because, dust refers to time, and waves because it is very close to the word saves and that is what blogging is, a temporary archive. However as I'm writing to you from my apt. overlooking the Griffith Observatory I see what I think is some bizarre sex scene happening outside my window. Though as I try to get a closer look at the tumbling bodies from a window about a hundred yards from mine in my direct sight line I think it may actually be children playing...They are swaying around back and forth like a slaves in an ancient rowing ship, and it is 11:30 and this is LA...so we can't exactly be sure what it is. They are definitely not playing star wars...which is what I hear they call sex nowadays in LA, at least in the side of town near the griffith observatory. It really is quite a beautiful night. I have really got to start raising money for my film...
